Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, joining a beta, or using Abstruck, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Joining only the public waitlist also means you agree to receive the early-access updates described beside the signup form, subject to your right to unsubscribe.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. If you are under the age of majority or the age at which you may consent to data processing where you live, you may use Abstruck only with a parent or guardian's authorization where required by law.
Accounts
You agree to provide accurate account information, protect access to your Auth0 account, and promptly report suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
We may restrict or close an account when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. An account-wide self-service deletion flow is not yet available and is listed for completion before broader launch.
The service
Abstruck is a productivity and knowledge tool that accepts supported audio and video uploads; produces transcripts; and helps users create summaries, notes, flashcards, cited answers, and exports. Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed during beta.
User content
You retain ownership of content you upload, import, write, or create through Abstruck. You give Abstruck a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, transcribe, transform, display, and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and support the service and its requested features.
This license includes sending content to the service providers needed for authentication, storage, hosting, transcription, email, and AI generation. It ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable technical cleanup, provider retention, backups, and legal obligations. Exported files are downloaded to your browser; you are responsible for how you store, share, and use those copies.
Content rights and recording consent
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload, import, record, process, and share the content you submit. Recording-consent rules differ by location and situation. You are responsible for informing participants and obtaining any consent required by applicable law before recording or processing their audio.
Abstruck does not provide jurisdiction-specific recording-law advice. If you are unsure whether a recording is lawful, obtain appropriate advice before using it with the service.
Acceptable use
You may not use Abstruck to:
- break the law or violate another person's rights;
- upload unauthorized recordings or infringing content;
- distribute malware, steal credentials, or compromise accounts;
- harass, exploit, threaten, or harm others;
- interfere with the service or probe it without authorization;
- bypass usage, access, or security limits; or
- use automated traffic in a way that burdens or abuses the service.
AI-generated output
Transcripts, summaries, flashcards, chat answers, and other generated results can be incomplete or wrong. Audio quality, speaker overlap, accents, terminology, and source quality may affect accuracy. Verify important information against the original recording and cited transcript segments.
Abstruck's outputs are productivity aids, not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. You remain responsible for decisions made using an output.
Beta and early access
Abstruck is under active development. Beta features may be incomplete, unavailable, interrupted, or materially changed. We may impose limits to protect reliability, manage provider costs, or test product behavior. Do not rely on the beta as the only copy of important recordings, notes, or other information.
Any offer of free Premium applies only to the early-access scope and duration stated in the invitation or announcement. It is not a promise of lifetime access and may end or change with reasonable notice.
Plans, usage, and payments
Paid plans and billing are not currently active. These Terms do not create a payment obligation. If paid plans launch, pricing, renewals, cancellation, refunds, taxes, and usage limits will be presented and agreed before a charge is made.
Third-party services
Abstruck relies on third-party services for authentication, hosting, database and storage, transcription and AI processing, email, profile image delivery, error monitoring, and limited product analytics. Their availability and processing are also governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Abstruck is not responsible for third-party websites or services that you choose to access outside the product.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Abstruck at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated violation of these Terms, unlawful activity, a security risk, non-payment if paid plans later launch, or when required by law. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue unless urgency or law prevents it.
Intellectual property
Abstruck and its licensors retain rights in the service software, design, branding, trademarks, and original product content. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you. Your ownership of your user content is described in Section 5.
Feedback is voluntary. If you provide feedback, you permit Abstruck to use it to improve the product without restricting your ability to use the same ideas independently.
Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, the beta service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Abstruck is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss caused by beta downtime, inaccurate AI output, or unauthorized content submitted by a user. This does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability arising from fraud or other conduct where exclusion is prohibited.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for reasonable third-party claims and costs directly caused by content you submit without required rights or consent, or by your unlawful misuse of the service. Abstruck will give reasonable notice of a claim and will not require indemnity for its own misconduct.
Governing law
The governing law and dispute forum for Abstruck accounts will be stated before public beta access opens. These Terms do not currently select a jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the service develops. We will change the “Last updated” date and give additional notice when a material change affects active users. Continued use after the effective date of an updated version means you accept it, where allowed by law.
